Successful Culture Connection-No Meeting in May

Because we were all just together for a successful time at Culture Connection we will not be meeting in May.  We will be posting the new meeting dates sometime in late June.  Be sure to be proactive about contacting your elected officials in regards to arts funding!

  • 9:30 am – The STATE of the ARTS
    • Pam Breaux, Ass’t. Secretary, Office of Cultural Development;

    • Hosting the February RDA Regional Meetings!
    • Drawing for Louisiana Citizens for the Arts Prize from donors!
  • 10:30 am – Louisiana Partnership for the Arts Meeting begins!
    • LPA Convening Begins as “Bylaw Amendment.”
      • The Board of Directors of the LPA moves that the following amendment to the bylaws be approved to create the office of Chairman-Elect.

        The Chairman-Elect shall serve as Vice-Chairman of theLPA and shall succeed the Chairman of the Board when his/her term expires. The Chairman-Elect shall assist the Chairman of the Board with planning and administrative duties and, in his/her absence, shall preside over meetings of the Board of Directors and convenings of LPA. Should the Chairman of the Board be unable to complete his/her term, the Chairman-Elect shall succeed to the office.

        RATIONALE for motion:  Because the LPA’s bylaws do not provide for a succession, the creation of this office will correct this oversight and provide for smooth transitions.
